Hare Krsna,
Dear Viewers,
Thiraikadal is my small attempt to serve The Almighty whom I dearly call Krsna through my immeasurable love but with my very little knowledge in serving Him. I firmly believe that it is Him who teaches me at every walk of life including how I can serve Him as well. So He is my Teacher , Guru , Mata, Pitha and Deivam and everything I can think of and am not able to think of as well . Being a soul surrendered unto His Lotus Feet, I am trying to write some articles, stories, novels in the hope that Bakthi can be very easy to practise, not something difficult or hard to understand so that that can be practised at old age or postponed to later stage of life.
I am a very very insignificant person with lots of shortcomings or with only shortcomings. What I share in this blog is my realisations and my experience in the path of my spiritual progress with the blessings of Him.So kindly accept my umpteen apologies for being so unripe and immature that I can’t be of any help or assistance to you through my writing as they are not intended to serve the purpose of helping other devotees and people but me ! If , by any chance, you find any article useful, It is purely His mercy and so thank only Him.

Hi Janu,
You site is very good keep it up. As you said you have copy rights , Vikatan also have copy rights .All your 30 types recepies are copy paste from Aval vikatan
Who gave you the permission to publish in your website ? even if your friends forwarded it to you it is not fair on your part to put on your website . Kindly remove them or get permission from us before publishing on your site .
Aval Vikatan .
Hi Vikatan,
I am sorry that it triggered such a problem. I never thought putting recipes will create such a problem. Because most of the recipies are available on internet so I thought it would be okay to publish . Please give me couple of days to resolve this issue. When I started putting them on net, I was pregnant and craving for something to eat. Now I am planning to open a prasadam cooking blog/site for my western friends who are Krishna Conscious and eat only food that are vegetarian. So I was collecting the recipies here as my computer is crashing most of the time. Whatever it is, I am sorry but happy that it brought you to my website (enna kodumai saravana ‘nu solreengalaa !!) But I will be more than happy and grateful to you if you let me publish these recipes in this blog for everyone to benefit. As mentioned by you,You tell me what I have to do to publish them on this blog with your permission. If you insist to remove them from my site, give me few days of time so that I will do the needful as my second child is four months old and it may not be possible for me to spend more time with computer at one stretch.
with regards,
Janu

To get permission.Just one question Did Lord krishna say to copy and paste from other sites ?
Lord Krishna sees everyone as the same and he is never particular about caste or creed. The vegetarian food is just to control the senses and concentrate on Lord Krishna.
There is no mention in Bhagawadgita or mahabharatha that Krishna’s devotees need to be vegetarians or satviks. As you can see Arjuna the closest friend and true devotee of Lord krishna was a Kshatriya( non brahmin) and they are supposed to be nonvegeterians eating meat .if you read puranas yo ucan see Kannapar( a hunter) presented deer’s meat to Lord Shiva as that is what he could afford and he transplanted his eyes to lord Shiva himself that is why the name.Any way thanks for removing the contents from your page.If you wish you can put the links on your site .We have lots of archives about the 30 types recepies.
But the readers need a proper subscription to vikatan by paying.

Dear friends and readers,
I have got some criticising comments from vikatan couple of days ago. I have tried to answer their questions honestly. Also I think I should use this opportunity to share my spiritual progress with you. From now on, every week , I am planning to write a spiritual column on the greatest book Bagawad Gita under this blog. Hope to see you here.
Dear Vikatan,
At first I have not seen the following comment posted by you at Thiraikadal as it went for moderation by my spam guard . That is why I have sent some mails to you as I had doubt that it was truly sent by you. But you have not acknowledged them until now. Instead I got rather unexpected comment from you ! You were one of the magazines that I respected a lot when I was a teen age girl. Know what I wanted to write for you as well. so it is very sad to see the way you have become.
The questions you have raised need to be answered in detail. anyway I have tried to answer them in short here. For more detailed answer, I am planing to write an article on Krishna consciousness. The article will be posted at this link.

//To get permission.Just one question Did Lord Krishna say to copy and paste from other sites ?
//
No. But you only posted an earlier comment saying that I could post the recipes with your permission. That is why I asked you to tell me what I have to do to display them.
Did I use Krishna’s name anywhere to justify my action ? So I do not know Why you ask this question to me. I have never copied , pasted and claimed anything from any other sites including yours. When I published the recipes , In my blog itself,I told it very clearly that those recipes were not mine but sent to me by friends and family and asked the readers not to give any credit to me. Still I don’t see anything wrong in publishing recipes in my site as everyone use the same ingredients and methods to cook foods such as dosa,idly,cutlets,rice varieties and subji varieties be it south indian or north inidan delicacies.
Any way I sent my apology to you if you think they are taken form your site. Still I did not receive any proof nor an acknowledgement from you but just a criticism for my Krishna Conscious beliefs. All my friends say that in Tamil Nadu every magazine give out 30 types of recipes booklet such as the ones posted on my site on the varieties of idly,dosa ,bajji, bonda ,cutlet each week . They insist no body can take any claim on those recipes as they are passed from one generation to another. I will re-publish those recipes soon in my blog with my very own measurements and touch. You can tell me which recipes are invented by you or your team and is your own patented recipe with proof. I promise I will remove them at once. I think I do deserve to publish some bajji,bonda recipes for my friends and readers (This I mean in a lighter sense only)
Also Why are you dragging Krishna in this matter ? Did I say Krishna asked me to post those recipes or copy paste them anywhere in my site? If you can prove any one article written and posted under my name is copied form any other site, I will stop running Thiraikadal. So please don’t drag Krishna into this issue. I wonder why my principles cause such a strong negative criticism from you. I am very sad that you took my beliefs in a wrong way .
I believe in Krishna. I also believe even animals deserve to live in this world like us, not as a food to please our taste buds. To Krishna both human beings and animals are one and the same . We are all his children. Still I am not forcing this ideals on anyone but sharing them with who are interested in it like me.
//
As you can see Arjuna the closest friend and true devotee of Lord krishna was a Kshatriya( non brahmin) and they are supposed to be nonvegeterians eating meat .
//
Yes ..See you yourself admitted that Lord Krishna sees everyone as the same and he is never particular about caste or creed. Indeed I am also saying the same . That is the reason I feel very sad and despondent at the idea of killing animals to please ones senses, particularly tongue . Even I believe the plants are also jivas(souls) like us. But to survive, One has to live and hence I choose the cruel less way to prepare my food. Many plants propagate itself through its fruits and seeds so in a way vegetarianism help the plants to propagate itself and not destroy them on the whole. A tree bears the fruit in the hope that someone will eat the fruit and throw away the stone so that it can propagate.
Coming to your questions,A person is called a kshatria because he can protect his folks form enemies and dangers. It is more of a job like that of a warrior or soldier who works in our national army. No where in Bhagawad Gita,it is mentioned that a kshatria is supposed to eat meat. The varnasrama dharma specified in Bhagawad Gita is not a caste system that is prevalent in Tamil Nadu and other part of India as to get some preferences and priorities form government. A person is called a brahmin ,ksatria, vysya or sudra purely based on his mode of nature. If a person loves to teach others and be pious without expecting any monetary benefit, he is called a Brahmin. People like Scientist of this era can be compared to them who works for a very low income .
If a person tends to fight against wrong doings , then he may be considered a ksatria. similarly who is business minded is called vaisya and who loves to serve (like my husband who works for a software company and happy with what he is doing) but not to lead is called a sudra. They are not birth rights and it is clearly explained in Bhagawad Gita.
Also you seem to have misunderstood the definition of satvik. Even a ksatria can be satvik. Arjuna was a satvik by nature and that is why he hesitated to fight against Acharyas like Bisma and Drona and brothers like Duryodana. That is why Krishna clarified his doubt that being satvik does not mean avoiding ones duty but doing it with Krishna conciousness in Bhagawad Gita.
As stated below, Bhagawad Gita text 14.17 and 14.18 emphasise that a person should be satvik to go back to godhead.
“Sattvat sanjayate jnaanam rajaso lobha eva ca
pramada-mohau tamaso bhavato jnanam eva ca “
Translation: From the mode of goodness(satva gunam) real knowldege develops;From the mode of passion / aggression (Rajasa gunam), greed develops;and from the mode of ignorance(tamasa gunam) develop foolishness,madness and illusion.
“Urdhvam gacchanti sattva-stha madhye tisthanti rajasah
jaghanya-guna-vrutti adho gacchanti tamasah”
Translation: Those situated in the mode of goodness gradually go upward to the higher planets;those in the mode of passion live on the earthly planets;and those in the abominable mode of ignorance go down to the hellish worlds.
I hope the above slokas help you understand that Krisna wants each one of us to be satvik and his perfect devotees.
//if you read puranas you can see Kannapar( a hunter) presented deer’s meat to Lord Shiva as that is what he could afford and he transplanted his eyes to lord Shiva himself that is why the name.Any way thanks for removing the contents from your page.If you wish you can put the links on your site .We have lots of archives about the 30 types recipes.

God will accept anything if offered with true Bhakthi.//
I do know the story. What Kannapar did was due to his mode of ignorance and/or innocence . As you said yourself, He was an hunter and not a very sophisticated person . He was also not very educated person to know what was right at that time he did that action. But we know what is right and wrong. If we imitate that, we do that just because of our arrogance , not because of our true bhakthi.
If one can’t afford anything, they can simply offer a fruit or a flower. Even water will do and it is clearly explained in this following sloka from Bhagavad Gita, text 9.26.
“Patram pushpam phalam toyam Yo me Bhkthya prayachchati
Tad aham bhakthy-upahrtam asnami prayataatmanah.”
Meaning: If one offers me with love and devotion a leaf,a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it.
Like Kannappar, you don’t have to offer meat if you can’t afford . As Krishna said, Even simple water would do wonders if it is offered with true love.Also true bhakthi will help one offer what Krishna wants rather than what one can afford or like.
A true bhakthi will be humble.A true bhakthi will we willing to accept what God wants . A true Bhakthi will be ready to learn and correct its mistake.
I am in learning phase now. I am not a perfect devotee like Arjuna. But I would love to become so with the support,encouragement and understanding of the people like you. I even would love to see you a true devotee of the supreme personality of godhead no matter what name you choose to call him. Shiva/Allah or Jehovah, the father of Jesus , they all share the same principles set by Krishna in Bhagawad Gita. So to me Krishna ,Jehovah and Allah are all one and the same. We call the supreme personality of godhead with multiple names.
I am thanking you from my heart for you have given me a wonderful opportunity to share this ideals with you and everyone. Please accept my apologies in advance If you think I have offended you anywhere .
